Broadcast Media Buyer

Broadcast media buyer

Working in Vector’s Toronto office, our Broadcast Media Buyer is responsible for negotiating, buying and maintaining National, Regional and Local broadcast media buys for Network, Selective and Connected TV and for traditional and internet radio.  A skilled negotiator, the Broadcast Buyer develops and maintains relationships with vendors, working towards the client campaign goals and is abreast of marketplace conditions and trends within the dynamic world of Canadian broadcast media.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and buy broadcast media campaigns on behalf of all Vector clients, including core buys and added-value
  • Create broadcast schedules using marketplace data and third-party research to deliver cost efficient and effective media schedules
  • Actively manage and monitor broadcast schedules including evaluating, negotiating and approving makegood activity
  • Assist in broadcast vendor invoice (discrepancy) reconciliation
  • Develop and maintain Market CPRP guides for media planning and post-buy reporting
  • Perform detailed Pre- and Post- Buy analyses as required on a client-by-client basis
  • Evaluate media opportunities and author Agency POVs

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience buying network, regional and selective broadcast media in English/French markets
  • Strong experience working with industry software including Numeris, Nielsen, Airware, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word in an Apple Network environment
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset but not required

  • Working from Vector’s office in shared space in downtown Toronto; regular travel to Vector’s head office in Ottawa

media traffic coordinator

Working closely with the firm’s Media Buyers, the successful candidate will:

  • Create and maintain traditional and digital ad material traffic schedules and documentation based on approved media plans
  • Assist media buyers with research / confirmation of production specifications and ad material delivery schedules
  • Liaise with creative and production partners in coordinating material requirements, and ad rotations
  • Participate in client status meetings and calls
  • Deliver ad material (i.e. via electronic transfer, uploading to FTP sites, email attachments, courier, etc.) to media publishers/broadcasters/websites in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Assist Media Buyers with collection of proof-of-performance on all media buys

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of agency experience in production / ad traffic management or coordination in digital, print, OOH and broadcast
  • Working knowledge / experience with print and digital production specifications, and Telecaster processes an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Work in an Apple Network environment
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset but not mandatory

Media Coordinator

Responsibilities

Working closely with the firm’s Media Planners/Buyers you will:

  • Confirm campaign production specs and ad material delivery schedules
  • Coordinate and deliver ad material (i.e. via electronic transfer, uploading to FTP sites, email attachments, courier, etc.) to media publishers/broadcasters/websites in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Collect and prepare proof-of-performance confirmation for media buys
  • Create and maintain (update, revise) advertising insertion orders and media logs
  • Create and maintaining (update & revise) ad material traffic schedules and documentation based on approved media plans
  • Assist media buyers / planners with research on new and trending media

 Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word in an Apple network environment
  • Experience with high volume or complex spreadsheet data entry
  • Six-months advertising agency (media experience preferred) or media publisher experience (including relevant internships)
  • Experience with contact / project management software (e.g., Daylight, Outlook etc.)
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset but not required
